.......This site was created during the 1997 - 1998 school year by 8th grader Oliver Majer with the assistance Mr. Cormack. This project and Oliver and Mr. Cormack team were created by Mrs. Buganski, our computer education teacher, to fulfill the requests of Kellogg parents who had asked for a school website. Although Oliver has had no previous experience in building websites, Mr. Cormack has created and maintains the Southington Blue Knights Marching Band website.
.
.......This site was created over the course of several months by Oliver and Mr. Cormack, a time schedule necessitated by the volunteer nature of this project. Oliver and Mr. Cormack were only able to stay after school for one hour, approximately one day each week. Oliver was extremely focused despite the distractions caused by other 8th grade students stopping by 'to help'. The creation of this site was also hampered by a computer virus that Oliver inadvertantly infected Mr. Cormack's computer with, by meetings (that took our room away) and by the hectic schedule that teachers in the building are saddled with (which made almost any communication with club advisors take forever.)
.
.......Despite all that, in late June 1998, this site was first tested on the internet, using space on an account that normally hosts Mr. Cormack's personal webpage. A few errors were found and corrected. The long anticipated MKMS.ORG server also failed to materialize at this time, and this site was relagated to disk storage. In November of 1998, after careful consideration, this site was loaded onto its present account, and here it will remain until such time as the NEWINGTONSCHOOLS.ORG server is created.
.
This site is currently maintained by Mr. Cormack alone, as Oliver has sadly moved to Glastonbury, CT. The continued growth of this site will not be the same without Oliver's persistant good humor and creativity (although my personal supply of Barq's Rootbeer will no longer be in danger!!)....Several minor changes have been made to the site since Oliver first created it, but the majority of the work is still Oliver's.

.......We would both like to take this moment to publicly thank Mrs. Terri Buganski, Computer Education Teacher for Martin Kellogg Middle School for envisioning this project and for bringing Oliver and myself together for that purpose. Furthermore, we are also very greatful to our principal, Mrs. Amzie Brown, for her support and encouragement in this endeavor. I would also like to thank my fellow tennants of Room 9, Dr. Chris Banach, Mr. Bob Smith and Miss Cindy Peruta for putting up with the distraction and noise of our creative process. Oliver and I certainly proved that creativity is neither quiet nor neat!
This project would not have been possible without the understanding, patience and trust of Oliver's Mom. ....Thanks Mrs. Majer!!!
