Martin Kellogg Vocal Music Department

There are currently 6 choral groups at Martin Kellogg Middle School. All groups meet for 40 minutes, once weekly, during activity period unless noted otherwise.

CONCERT CHOIR

The Concert Choir is an 85 voice mixed chorus composed of 5th grade students. Concert Choir meets once weekly for 25 minutes. Students voluntarily give up recess to participate in this activity.

TREBLE CHOIR

The Treble Choir is a 45 voice girls' choir made up of 6th grade students.

CHAMBER SINGERS

This is a dual-purpose choir that serves as a 78 voice 7th and 8th grade girls' choir and also combines with the Camberata Choir for a 100 voice mixed chorus.

CAMBERATA CHOIR

This is a 32 voice choir made up of boys from grades 6 - 8. The Camberata Choir performs "Men's Music" on their own and they also combine with the Chamber singers to form a 100 voice mixed chorus.

CHORALIERS

This is a select 21 voice girls' ensemble.

VOCAL TECHNIQUE ENSEMBLE

This ensemble is made up of 28 8th grade girls who rehearse in sectionals and after school as an entire group.

.

.

The above groups perform in concert twice a year. The first concert is in January, and focuses on folk, classical, and traditional repertoire. The second concert is in May, and is a "Pops" concert. The smaller groups also perform at retirement dinners, for holiday events, and in other venues as they become available.
